This election year is unlike any other in our generation and will have a dramatic effect on the future of our country as well as our political climate. America’s future is on the ballot today.
Although recent polls have shown Donald Trump making gains in heavily blue states like Michigan and Colorado, in my opinion this election is going to be razor thin. Not because I feel the candidates have relatively equal support (it’s obvious by Trump’s crowd sizes that he has voter enthusiasm locked up), but instead the closeness will be due to the massive political machine of the Democrats and Hillary Clinton.
The Democrats have had 8 years to dig in, gain influence and have the backing of the government through Barack Obama, in addition to the entire mainstream media. These are powerful components, but Donald Trump has done a fantastic job of overcoming them. However, like Donald Trump says, “the system is rigged” against political outsiders to ensure that the establishment wins no matter who is running.
With that being said, I believe Donald Trump has enough unmeasured support that the polls have not registered to win this election. But, it may all come down to New Hampshire’s 4 electoral votes.
This map assumes Trump will win every state that Mitt Romney won in 2012, in addition to Florida, Ohio and North Carolina. That would still cause him to be 2 points short of 270, however, and he would need New Hampshire to reach 272, with Clinton falling short at 266.
I’m hoping that Trump makes some surprise victories in states like Pennsylvania and Michigan, but considering the Democrat’s strangle hold on voting in Philadelphia, Clinton may still be able to maintain control of these areas. Personally, I’m also hoping for a 1980 Reagan-like sweep for Donald Trump, lighting up historically blue states in red by the end of the night.
Regardless of what happens today, the old Republican order is done, finished, there is no going back. If Trump wins, the Republican party will be re-shaped into a populist party for the people. If he loses, millions of voters will lose faith in the Republicans and will likely start a new political party with Donald Trump at the lead. This new party will encompass the vision of “America First”, giving voters a clear choice in future candidates who will support this agenda.
Donald Trump started a movement, and he rightly states, “I’m just the messenger”. This movement will go on no matter what happens today, and Trump has pulled back the curtain on the corruption that has been infecting our government for years. That corruption will only get much worse with Hillary Clinton at the helm, and our country may never recover. Instead, America will become part of the globalist agenda with open borders, limited rights and a lose of manufacturing.
You can bet the bank that if Hillary Clinton is elected, neither political party will ever allow an outsider like Trump to gain momentum and become a presidential candidate again, and will put measures in place to prevent this in future elections.
If you have not yet cast your ballot, go to your local polling station and vote for prosperity, job growth and America. Vote for Donald Trump!
