The tolerant left strikes again and succeeds in bullying blind opera star Andrea Bocelli, along with Broadway singer Jennifer Holliday, out of performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration as planned.
Andrea Bocelli, a blind tenor from Italy backed out of performing at Trump’s inauguration after receiving death threats and fans saying they will boycott his records if he performs. The opera star was determined to move forward despite these threats, since he had already made a commitment to perform at the inauguration, but his security team advised against it and said, “it isn’t worth the risk”.
Opera star Bocelli backed out of singing at Donald Trump’s inauguration after receiving death threats, The Mail on Sunday has learnt.
The revelation came as another singer – Broadway legend Jennifer Holliday – last night pulled out of the President-elect’s festivities after being threatened and branded an ‘Uncle Tom’.
When blind tenor Andrea Bocelli announced he would not sing at this Friday’s celebration, it was widely reported it was because fans had said they would boycott his concerts and records.
But a source said the 58-year-old had been determined to ‘press ahead’ and sing but had pulled out on the advice of his security team after receiving threats to his life. A source close to Bocelli, a friend of Trump’s, said: ‘Andrea is very sad to be missing the chance to sing at such a huge global event but he has been advised it is simply not worth the risk.’
It appears Bocelli will be missing out on performing at a presidential inauguration due to the violent threats being made against his life by the “tolerant” left.
Andrea isn’t the only performer to be backing out the inauguration due to threats or harassment, as Broadway star Jennifer Holliday also announced she will no longer be in attendance. Apparently she had “not realized” that performing at Trump’s inauguration was viewed by her “tolerant” leftist fans as passive support for Donald Trump and his policies.
Due to the attacks on Holliday for her decision to perform she was verbally abused and branded as an “uncle Tom” for being an African-American singer performing for the soon to be president of the United States.
Singer Holliday, 56, famed for her performance as Effie in Dreamgirls, had originally said she was ‘determined’ to sing for Trump despite voting against him.
She also denounced the abuse she was getting and called it an attack on freedom of speech.
However, last night she said that she had not realised her participation in the inauguration show would be interpreted as support for the President-elect.
Holliday, who has performed for the Clintons, both George W Bush and his father, and the Reagans, issued a statement apologising to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender fans for being ‘uneducated’ on the issues.
She wrote: ‘My only choice must now be to stand with the LGBT community and to state unequivocally that I will not perform for the welcome concert or for any of the inauguration festivities.’
Sorry Jennifer, a small minority of angry leftists demand that you withdrawal or suffer even more harassment and boycotts. What happened to the slogan “Love Trumps Hate” that anti-Trump protesters preached while rallying against the president-elect? I suppose that only applies to Trump and his voters, as there has been nothing but toxic behaviors from the protesters, death threats and boycotting performers who only want to entertain and be a part of history.
Oddly enough, Holliday seems to be under the impression that Trump and his policies are anti-gay, when in fact he appealed to the LGBT community when making his speech at the RNC last year, making him the first Republican presidential candidate to do so.
Apparently the people sending death threats and vile emails to these performers are basing their views on the “fake news” so often used by the mainstream media to portray Trump as something he is not.
It’s a sad day when performers cannot entertain their audiences and be a part of history because of death threats and bullying from anti-Trump leftists. Where is all the tolerance they preach, I wonder?
