Clint Eastwood, one of the last bastions of manliness and pride in a liberal Hollywood, has blasted the politically correct culture along with the Democratic party’s use of “pawns” like the Khan family. Personally I’ve been waiting to see what Eastwood would have to say about this controversial election year, as he doesn’t just play a tough guy in films, he is a tough guy.
In an interview yesterday with Esquire, Eastwood was asked about today’s culture and how Donald Trump was fitting into it:
Maybe. But he’s onto something, because secretly everybody’s getting tired of political correctness, kissing up. That’s the kiss-ass generation we’re in right now. We’re really in a pussy generation. Everybody’s walking on eggshells. We see people accusing people of being racist and all kinds of stuff. When I grew up, those things weren’t called racist. And then when I did Gran Torino, even my associate said, “This is a really good script, but it’s politically incorrect.” And I said, “Good. Let me read it tonight.” The next morning, I came in and I threw it on his desk and I said, “We’re starting this immediately.”
Eastwood touches on a topic that many Trump supporters, and even Trump himself, have brought up during his campaign. “Everybody’s getting tired of political correctness.” A generation of wimps, constantly offended by “micro-aggressions” and unable to handle any ideas that don’t conform to the politically correct norm of today’s society. They are unwilling to engage in any critical thinking, explore new ideas or even have a discussion with someone who disagrees with their liberal sensibilities. Anyone who dares to challenge progressive policies is quickly silences by the masses yelling, “racists, bigot and xenophobe.”
If a person objects to any liberal trend or social justice movement, they are promptly shut down, ridiculed and forced to submit to the prevailing Democratic party ideas.
Perhaps one of Trump’s greatest strengths this year is that he does not submit to pressure from the media, Democrats, social justice warriors or even members of his own party that demand he apologizes and bows to the alter of their “progressive” culture. For if he was to apologize, he would be admitting he was wrong, and if he admits he was wrong, then the liberal media would only crucify him further. So it really does Trump no good to every apologize for his words or thoughts.
Eastwood is famous for playing characters that don’t back down in the face of danger or oppression. A man who stands up to bullies and fights on behalf of the oppressed. Oddly enough, that description could fit Donald Trump this year as well. He stands up to liberals who seek to tear him down for daring to deviate from his party’s line, submit to liberal criticism or give in to social pressure.
When asked candidly about the choice between Clinton and Trump, Eastwood replied:
“I’d have to go for Trump … you know, ’cause she’s declared that she’s gonna follow in Obama’s footsteps,” he said. “There’s been just too much funny business on both sides of the aisle. She’s made a lot of dough out of being a politician. I gave up dough to be a politician. I’m sure that Ronald Reagan gave up dough to be a politician.”
Looks like Clint Eastwood wants to Make America Great Again too…
Eastwood was asked in an interview with TMZ last night what he thought about Trump “getting into it” with the Khan family, to which he replied he really didn’t know anything about it and that he made a mistake making fun of the guy’s dead son. However, Trump never made fun of anyone’s dead son, he was criticizing Khan himself and the media twisted the story into one that tows of the line of Trump bashing military families, which is a lie as he has shown nothing but respect for veterans.
Clint Eastwood says the Democrats used the Gold Star family as pawns at the convention.
We got Clint leaving Craig’s in WeHo Wednesday night, and he had criticism for both parties. He clearly thinks Trump crossed the line in his now-famous feud with the Khan family, but he thinks the Dems share in the blame for putting the grieving family on display for political gain.
You can view the video of this brief exchange here.
Eastwood rightly stated that “[Khan] was being exploited by the other party,” meaning the Democratic party.
I’m wondering if the liberal media will now switch gears and start attacking Clint Eastwood for daring to challenge their narrative and seemingly agreeing with some of Trump’s points.
I doubt the media will broadcast Eastwood’s remarks to anywhere near the amount of negative headlines that they gave Trump after his statements. They will not attack Eastwood to this extent because, number one, he is a highly respected and influential actor who many people respect, so they would not want anyone taking his thoughts to heart and gain a positive perspective of Trump. And, number two, it doesn’t fit the narrative that the entire country is disappointed in Trump for his remarks, denouncing him and that the Republican party is in turmoil.
Perhaps the best quote in the interview with Eastwood, and one that sums up the way our country should be approaching this whole social justice movement, is as follows:
“Oh, well, that’s racist,” and they’re making a big hoodoo out of it. Just f*cking get over it. It’s a sad time in history.
A sad time indeed, when anyone who does not tow the liberal party’s message will be forever branded a “racist” and shammed into submission.
Donald Trump does not submit, and that’s a big reason why people are having the courage to stand up to the media, Hillary Clinton and the entire liberal snowflake generation.
What terrifies the Democrats more than Donald Trump? The fact that his movement has gained so much support and even if he loses the election (let’s pray he does not), the message Trump has carried to millions of voters will continue to manifest itself into a political party of its own. A party, that could challenge the entire corrupt system and prevent their vision of globalism from overtaking American values.
The government of our great republic should be terrified of betraying their citizens and their trust, it keeps them from thoughts of serving their own self-interests over those of our nation. Unfortunately they haven’t been concerned for our nation in some time, but if the Trump movement continues to grow, we could see a political shakeup of historic proportions…one that usually only comes about in countries as the result of an armed revolution, rather than a peaceful one.
