What a dilemma for Democrats currently running for office…Go against 64% of Americans that believe Hillary Clinton is NOT honest and trustworthy by continually dodging the question, or admit that Clinton has trust issues and risk the wrath of fellow Democrats?
Democratic Governor of New Hampshire, Maggie Hassan, who is also currently running for Senate, decided to utilize political doublespeak and completely dodge the question. She chose the typical route that most politicians take when presented with a question that they cannot answer honestly, and that is to recite generic statements of support for Hillary Clinton.
After the numerous scandals involving Clinton’s email server, the Clinton Foundation, lying about Benghazi and many other incidents, the majority of voters in the nation have gotten the message as 64% believe she is not honest and trustworthy.
Here is a transcript of the back and forth between the interviewer and Gov. Hassan. You have to give Manu credit for at least trying to get a straight answer out of her regarding Clinton’s honesty, but Hassan was committed to not giving a straight answer.
Manu Raju: “Do you think that she is honest and trustworthy?”
Hassan: “I support Hillary Clinton for the presidency because her experience and her record demonstrate that she is qualified to hold the job.”
Manu Raju: “Do you think she is honest?”
Hassan: “She has, um, a critical, critical plan among others for making college more affordable.”
Manu Raju: “But do you think that she is trustworthy?”
Hassan: “I think she has demonstrated a commitment always to something beyond herself, bigger than herself.”
Notice Hassan’s answer to the second time that she was asked if she thinks Hillary Clinton is honest. She replies by stating that Clinton has a “critical plan” for making college more affordable.
That answer has absolutely nothing to do with believing if Hillary Clinton is honest and trustworthy at all.
This political strategy of dodging questions is nothing new, but it’s particularly difficult in the case of Hillary’s honesty because there has been such a massive amount of evidence over her career that indicates she is a liar.
Democrats can never openly admit that they agree with the 64% of Americans that feel Clinton is dishonest, but either way they present themselves as fools by continually answering the questions with irrelevant points.
So if you want to baffle a Clinton supporter, simply ask them if they believe she is honest and trustworthy, but be sure to cite the polls that show the overwhelming majority of Americans believe that she is a liar.
