Yesterday Senator Bernie Sanders took to CNN for an interview to discuss his take on President Trump’s recent policies, but after uttering the forbidden phrase “fake news” directed towards CNN as a joke, Sander’s live feed immediately encountered some “technical difficulties”.
The reporter starts to ask Sanders about his opinion on President Trump’s relationship with Putin, specifically regarding reports that General Flynn discussed the issue of U.S. sanctions with Russia and was not forthcoming about it.
CNN cuts to a clip from earlier in the day where reporters are asking Trump about the accusations to which replies he has not been made aware of those reports, but will look into them.
Back to CNN’s interview with Sanders the reporter asks if he thinks this situation is a problem for Trump, to which Sander’s responds, “Well, I don’t know, maybe he was watching CNN Fake News, what do you think?”
Obviously this was an attempt at humor on the part of Bernie Sanders, meant to poke fun at Trump’s branding of CNN as “fake news”, but someone behind the scenes clearly didn’t think so, as seconds after he uttered the phrase “fake news” the segment started having audio problems.
The feed was cut on Sander’s end as he states he cannot hear anything from the reporter, although the audience can still hear him speak. “Looks like we’ve lost connection with Senator Sanders, so lets try to get that back up,” the reporter says as Sander’s feed disappears from the screen.
This isn’t the only time by far that CNN has been caught with “technical difficulties” immediately after a guests make uncomfortable statements that disputes their narrative.
Last year after the election CNN was interviewing a liberal Muslim woman who said she voted for Trump to “shut down the liberal honor brigade”, stating the Democrats and their constant attempts at shutting down free speech drove her away from the party. CNN mysteriously encountered issues with the broadcast, which ended up shutting down her feed as well.
For more examples of CNN hitting the panic button during their interviews you can view the compilation video below, which shows various instances of “technical difficulties” after a guest criticizes or speaks the truth about Hillary Clinton.
