As the opposition forces of the media and liberal talking heads are busy getting their latest anti-Trump narratives together, reports have surfaced that FBI Director Comey had no advanced notice of his firing, first heard of it from a live news broadcast taking place on screens in Los Angeles and at first thought it was a joke.
According to The Daily Mail former FBI Director Comey was “blindsided” by his termination and first heard of his own termination from television screens broadcasting the news that were on behind him, as he addressed fellow agents at the Los Angeles field office.
President Donald Trump has sensationally fired FBI Director James Comey, days after he provided false testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee about classified emails from Huma Abedin found on Anthony Weiner’s computer.
Trump wrote to Comey on Tuesday afternoon saying: ‘You are hereby terminated and removed from office immediately.’
Comey was blindsided by his firing. He learned about it on live television screens he could see as he addressed agents in the Los Angeles field office, the New York Times reported.
Incredibly, he told the agents he thought it was a fairly funny prank until other members of his staff took him off stage and told him it was true, the paper said.
His motorcade was seen on a Los Angeles freeway after the firing as it made its way through slow-moving traffic on a freeway in a bizarre O.J. Simpson-like scene to a chartered Gulfstream V, which Comey boarded at Hawthorne Municipal Airport just over three hours after his termination.
In true Trump trolling fashion, knowing that his termination letter to Comey would be made public, was sure to note that FBI Director Comey himself publicly stated three times that there was no evidence of Trump’s collusion with Russia.
The president used the firing letter to boast that Comey had told him three times he was not under investigation – a reference to allegations being touted by his opponents that he somehow colluded with the Kremlin in its bid to bring down Hillary Clinton.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions also penned a letter recommending the termination of James Comey, stating that “The Director of the FBI must be someone who follows faithfully the rules and principles of the Department of Justice and who sets the right example for our law enforcement officials and other in the Department.”
In other words, Sessions in implying that Comey has not upheld the law, likely a reference to his botched investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server, and has not followed the rules nor provided a good example for law enforcement agents to follow.
The following days, weeks and likely even months will see the liberal media rushing to condemn President Trump’s actions as some sort of political scandal, despite the fact that Comey had absolved the president multiple times in regards to the Russia allegations.
The hypocrisy will be intense, as Democrats have laid their fair share of criticism at Comey ever since Hillary Clinton lost the election, with even Clinton herself recently blaming Comey for her disastrous loss. Even Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein demanded Comey explain himself in regards to Clinton’s email server investigation, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer himself said after Clinton’s election loss, “I do not have confidence in him any longer,” a reference to Comey’s decision to reopen the Clinton email investigation a week before election day.
Despite Democrat’s criticism of Comey in the past months, they will undoubtedly be treating him as a saint now that Trump has fired him, making Comey out to be some sort of pillar of justice or incorruptible cop, when the reality is quite the opposite.
