It seems the anti-Trump forces never learn their lesson, as fresh off Rachel Maddow’s failure to present evidence of corruption from Trump’s tax returns, long time Clinton ally David Brock is offering a $5 million bounty on the president’s recent tax returns.
Almost immediately after Rachel Maddow’s story on Trump’s tax returns blew up in her face, which only ended up showing that Trump paid significantly more taxes than his harshest of critics including Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders, Democrat operative David Brock tweets his offer of $5 million for Trump’s “complete legally obtained tax returns”.
More questions than answers tonight. I’m offering a $5m reward to anyone with Trump’s complete, legally obtained tax returns.

Ironically, the only way for Brock to obtain Trump’s tax returns in a legal manner would be from Trump himself, as it’s illegal for the IRS or anyone to release another person’s tax documents.
As per the US tax code section 6103(b), concerning confidentiality and disclosure of tax returns and associate data, it is unlawful for any person to disclose any return or return information obtained by them in any manner in connection with their services as an officer/employee of the IRS.
Brock’s offer goes a step beyond New York Time’s reporter Nicholas Krisftof’s request for someone to “leak” Trump’s tax returns and mail them to his office, which he tweeted earlier this month
Keep in mind, this is the same David Brock who was even mocked by fellow Democrats who claimed they wish he “would simply disappear” and “want nothing to do with him”, after his pro-Clinton group Correct the Record proved a disastrous waste of money.
Democrats know they need someone to lead them out of the wilderness. But, they say, that someone is not David Brock.
As David Brock attempts to position himself as a leader in rebuilding a demoralized Democratic Party in the age of Trump, many leading Democratic organizers and operatives are wishing the man would simply disappear.
Many in the party—Clinton loyalists, Obama veterans, and Bernie supporters alike—talk about the man not as a sought-after ally in the fight against Trumpism, but as a nuisance and a hanger-on, overseeing a colossal waste of cash. And former employees say that he has hurt the cause.
David Brock was also branded as a liar who makes Clinton look even more untrustworthy, as revealed in one of the Podesta emails provided by Wikileaks.
After Hillary Clinton’s humiliating defeat in last year’s election, along with Brock’s failure to propel the Democratic party to victory, he decided to solicit yet more funding from donors in order to form a Trump opposition group called American Bridge.
Brock’s opposition group contains various subsections, such as Share Blue whose goal is dominate social media with anti-Trump narratives, as has been outlined in their leaked playbook that states their ultimate goal is to impeach the president.
David Brock was found to be connected to the “Pizzagate” conspiracy, as his ex-boyfriend and owner of Comet Pizza turned out to be a Clinton donor with close ties to John Podesta, as revealed in Wikileaks emails. Brock’s Super PAC “Correct the Record” was also found to be coordinating with the Clinton campaign, which is illegal.
In addition Wikileaks Podesta emails, Brock was also described as “thinking black voters are stupid” after releasing an embarrassing ad in support of Hillary Clinton, but only ended up making her appear even more untrustworthy.
Will anyone bring the hammer down on David Brock’s request for someone to break the law, and will the media report on his illicit statement? Not likely, as it appears they are far more concerned with uncovering the next Trump scandal that they can fabricate from “unnamed sources” and unfounded claims completely lacking any hard evidence.
In the end, it looks like Trump could make an easy $5 million by delivering his complete tax returns from a year of his choosing, as Brock did not specify a date, and at the same time once again humiliate his opponents.
