In an interview set to air on the Sean Hannity Show Tuesday night, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange once again seeks to clear up the allegations that Russia was directly responsible for hacking the DNC and John Podesta’s email servers during last year’s election.
Every mainstream media outlet from the Washington Post to the New York Times has been calling for retaliatory actions against the Russian government for alleged “hacking” and interference with the election, but there has yet to be a single report made public that presents any concrete evidence of Russian involvement. Instead, the media has cited “sources” within the government and CIA for their claims of Russian involvement, even going as far to implicate Vladimir Putin himself.
Sean Hannity visited the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where Julian Assange has been trapped for 3 years, to interview the Wikileak’s founder face to face. Hannity has previously had Assange on his radio show, at which time he also stated the Russians had nothing to do with the email leaks, while also implying the source was someone within the DNC itself.
Here is a transcript from a preview of the Sean Hannity interview with Julian Assange:
HANNITY: Can you say to the American people, unequivocally, that you did not get this information about the DNC, John Podesta’s emails, can you tell the American people 1,000 percent that you did not get it from Russia or anybody associated with Russia?
JULIAN ASSANGE: Yes. We can say, we have said, repeatedly that over the last two months that our source is not the Russian government and it is not a state party.
ASSANGE: Our publications had wide uptake by the American people, they’re all true. But that’s not the allegation that’s being presented by the Obama White House. So, why such a dramatic response? Well, the reason is obvious. They’re trying to delegitimize the Trump administration as it goes into the White House. They are trying to say that President-elect Trump is not a legitimate President…
ASSANGE: Our source is not a state party, so the answer for our interactions is no. But if we look at our most recent statement from the US government, which is on the 29th of December, OK, we had five different branches of government, Treasury, DHS, FBI, White House presenting their accusations to underpin Obama’s throwing out 29 Russian diplomats. What was missing from all of those statements? The word WikiLeaks. It’s very strange.
Hannity’s full interview with Assange will air on Tuesday night at 10:00pm Eastern Time.
I have a sneaking suspicion that no matter how many times Assange publically states that the DNC/Podesta leaks were not perpetrated by the Russians, the mainstream media will simply ignore him and continue to push the “Russian hacker” narrative.
Considering the media is using nothing more than anonymous sources to base their conclusions on, you would think that a direct statement from Assange himself would make headlines across the nation, and set the record straight regarding the DNC leaks. But remember, this is the same media that said Hillary Clinton was going to win the election and Trump had no chance at victory.
One has to wonder if this interview with Hannity was planned to coincide with a statement from Donald Trump on the hacks that took place during the election, as Trump stated at brief press conference on New Year’s Eve: “I also know things that other people don’t know, we they cannot be sure of the situation.” Trump was referring to the allegations of Russian involvement in the DNC and Podesta email hacks and also implied that he would be making public some yet undisclosed information later this week stating, “You will find out on Tuesday or Wednesday.”
