Not even the fact that many national polls are oversampling Democrats (and Clinton favorable demographics) by as much as 9%-12% can seem to stem the rise of Trump, and the downward spiral of Clinton. Even in the ABC/Washington Post poll that had Hillary Clinton leading Trump by 12 points only 10 days ago, is now showing Trump in the lead by a small margin.
We’ve been here before in the past, however, as we saw Hillary Clinton’s numbers go down drastically after the RNC in July, her medical incident on 9/11 and other instances of unfavorable news, but this change is taking place only 7 days until the election. Here is the latest USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times “Daybreak” poll:
Note, Trump’s poll numbers were already starting to break away from Clinton’s on October 26th, days before the FBI announcement that they were reopening their investigation against her, so chances are that even without that bombshell he would still be leading Clinton at this point.
So which demographics are hitting Hillary Clinton the hardest after the FBI announcement? An area that the media previously touted as her solid supporters, voters who were considered “educated”, processing a college degree.
Since the FBI investigation, it seems at least a portion of Clinton’s supporters with college educations have enough of the constant scandals and corruption allegations, as Trump is seeing a sharp increase in their support.
If Clinton can’t stop the bleeding in these polls with some sort of bombshell against Trump, she better start getting her concession speech ready for election night. Although with every day that passes, any announcement by the Democrats is rapidly losing its ability to impact voter’s decisions.
