If you thought Democrat protesters got fired up over mentioning of a border wall, national security or bringing jobs back to the United States from Mexico, then you haven’t seen anything until you watch what happened at a GOP town hall in Louisiana last week.
Republican Senator Bill Cassidy was hosting a town hall in Metairie to talk about the issues facing America and how his party intends to tackle them. The town hall would touch on topics like immigration, jobs, healthcare and national security.
So far so good, until Louisiana State chaplain Dr. Michael Sprague stepped up to the podium and announced he was going to deliver a prayer to open up the Q&A with Senator Cassidy.
As soon as the chaplain said the word “prayer” the protesters erupted, almost as if they’ve been pre-programmed to react with insanity once they hear a trigger word, and proceed to shout planned slogans and jeers. Their reaction, however, goes far beyond a bit of heckling as you can hear in the video the chants of “separation of church and state” along with “you’re not suppose to be up there” during the entire reading.
The chaplain begins the prayer and the protesters almost quiet down, but that only lasted for about a second until one of them shouted, “Amen, we’re done, shut up!”
Through the constant shrieks, screams and shouts you can hear a few phrases of the chaplain’s prayer including, “Thank you for moms, and dads and grandmothers…” Unfortunately, the more wholesome and good the prayer became, the more the protesters became agitated and were clearly bothered by expressions of kindness. The scene was almost as if you were watching a group of vampires in a movie being confronted with holy water or a crucifix.
The agitators erupt into a even bigger fury when the chaplain ends the prayer “in Jesus’ name we pray”, after which they started screaming “separation of church and state” at the top of their lungs. This wasn’t just shouting, it was the highest pitched screeching you could imagine, as if someone was being subjected to torture.
You haven’t seen true crazy until you’ve watched Democrat protesters react to a simple 30 second prayer.
Just in case you are still unsure of exactly where these protesters stand in terms of how much they hate everything America stands for, they also erupted during the Pledge of Allegiance, as shown in the video below.
You can easily tell who is there just to protest, and who is attending because they care about their country and want to engage their politicians, by observing who stands for the Pledge of Allegiance and who is sitting whiling playing on their phones or flailing their arms around wildly.
It should come as no surprise that GOP lawmakers are reviewing plans for extra security at town hall events.
