Typically Democrats are immune to attacks on their own hypocrisy, mostly due to the fact that the mainstream media is completely in support of their liberal beliefs, but this time the irony is inescapable for Democratic Missouri Senator Claire McCaskil.
After yesterday’s media fueled slanted story attempting to attack Attorney General Jeff Sessions, in which the Washington Post heavily edited an exchange with Sessions and Democrat Al Franken during his confirmation hearings, the left dashed to call for recusals and resignations.
One Democrat chiming in via Twitter, Senator Claire McCaskil, claimed that as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee she never “ever” met with the Russian ambassador. She also claimed that ambassadors only make phone calls to the Foreign Relations Committee, not the Armed Services Committee.
McCaskil was attempting to discredit Session’s claims that, as part of his official capacity, he regularly met with ambassadors of various countries and spoke with 25 representatives of different nations last year alone. Meaning that there was nothing irregular about also meeting with the Russian Ambassador only twice over the past year and half.
The problem with McCaskil’s claims, however, was that she blatantly contradicted herself and lied about not having interactions with Russian ambassadors herself, as illustrated by her previous statements on Twitter.
So today we have McCaskil claiming she never had, or would ever, speak with ambassadors as a member of the Armed Services committee. However, in 2015 she states “Today calls with British, Russian and German Ambassadors” over the Iran deal, using the hashtage #doingmyhomework.
Further illustrating McCaskil’s deception is a tweet from 2013, where she states she personally met with the Russian Ambassador, who at the time was discussing Putin’s decision to end adoptions of Russian children by America’s citizens.
Tweets don’t lie and what you post on the Internet can never be erased, as Senator McCaskil is learning the hard way today.
The main point of McCaskil’s deception isn’t only the hypocrisy of the Democrats when criticizing Republicans for behaviors that they themselves engage in, but also the hivemind-like mentality of the left when attempting a character assassination of high ranking officials.
Not even hours passed after WaPo’s hit piece on Sessions was published before Democrat Nancy Pelosi and her allies were calling for his resignation.

Such a swift reaction with hardly time to read or digest the claims would certainly indicate Pelosi and others had knowledge of WaPo’s story, and had already prepared a coordinated attack. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time, as the media was caught during the election openly colluding with Hillary Clinton’s campaign for her benefit.
The constant media explosions on all things Russians is rapidly boiling down to the single headline of, “He met with a Russian!” Someone who has supported Trump or belonged to his campaign has spoken to a Russian at some point in the past years is basically the rallying cry of Trump’s opponents. I imagine the average moderate voter has heard these claims so many times that they are rapidly losing their impact, if they even had much impact to begin with.
Finally, this headline about Jeff Sessions just happens to come out only days after Trump delivered what even the media is calling his best speech to date.
