A Muslim woman who proclaims herself a “silent voter for Trump” was interviewed on CNN yesterday as she criticized the “liberal honor brigade” for trying to silence free speech and the opinions of anyone who disagrees with them.
The interview starts out with the guest, who describes herself as a “happy liberal” explaining what she believes in and why she is speaking out against the protests and riots in the wake of Trump’s victory.
I’m a happy liberal, believe in progressive values, but I do believe we have a liberal honor brigade these days that is basically shutting up and silencing people who disagree with them.
We see them marching on the streets right now, because they don’t like the election results, and unfortunately whenever anybody would speak up we were ridiculed or chastised. Even now, the idea of speaking out as somebody who voted for Trump is already earning me all sort of lovely labels like “idiot” and “effer”, and all of these other ideas I think violate liberal values of free speech and self determination.
You can sometimes see the actual frustration in the CNN anchor’s face with this woman, who is a liberal Muslim and voted for Donald Trump, because according to the media’s narrative anyone with these beliefs should have been waving the flag for Hillary Clinton. Instead, CNN is finding out that the negative labels they put on Donald Trump this year didn’t quite stick to all women, liberals or Muslim voters, despite their best efforts to demonize him in the eyes of these voting bloc.
The interview goes on for a bit, but unfortunately the guest is “cut off” at the end, as it appears CNN is once again experiencing connection issues when it comes to interviewing Donald Trump supporters. CNN can’t be happy about Trump’s victory to begin with, but to have a woman who is also a minority, and liberal, go on national TV to proclaim her support for Trump is like rubbing salt in the wound.
