Conservative author, commentator and avid Donald Trump fan Ann Coulter is predicting the final nail in the coffin for the GOP if Hillary Clinton wins the election.
Coulter’s new book, In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome, came out on Tuesday and does a great job of explaining the political environment (and failings) that gave rise to a people’s candidate like Donald Trump.
Ann Coulter makes a valid point in regards to the future of the GOP and Republicans as we know them. If Donald Trump wins, then he will basically reform the Republican party into a stronger political influence, and one that sticks to its guiding principles, which many disenfranchised voters feel it has left behind.
Democrats did not change parties in massive numbers during the primaries to vote for Republicans, they did so to vote for Donald Trump. Millions of voters are not voting for a party, but rather a leader that they believe in. The GOP hasn’t been attracting many new voters to its party before Trump came along, and many long time GOP voters have felt the party has failed them.
Either way, this November will signal a radical change for the GOP. Either Donald Trump wins and turns the party back to the principles of the Reagan years, or Clinton wins and voters become even more disenfranchised with the weak GOP, which will only become even weaker under another 4 years of Hillary Clinton.
Yahoo News reports:
Hopes for Republican presidents down the road would be slim if Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton were to defeat Donald Trump , conservative commentator and best-selling author Ann Coulter told CNBC on Tuesday.
Coulter said on “Squawk Box” a Clinton presidency would usher in amnesty for undocumented immigrants and open borders, stacking the deck with future voters.
“There will be no hope for any Republican winning another election. There’s no point to what I do, what talk radio hosts do, what Fox News does,” Coulter said. “Nobody goes to the game if you can’t win.”
But Coulter does not believe Clinton will prevail, despite leading in the polls with just 76 days until the election. Coulter predicted: “The polls will get closer because [Trump] is going to win.”
Coulter’s new book — “In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome,” which went on sale Tuesday — aims to explain the engine that led to the rise of Trump and why voters should get on board.
“It is utterly unfair the way the media is treating Donald Trump,” she argued, saying that Trump’s off-the-cuff tweets and rallies with tens of thousands of people are the only ways he can talk directly to voters without a liberal media filter.
Trump does a better job staying on message when he uses a teleprompter, Coulter admitted, praising the policy speeches the Republican nominee has been delivering in the past couple weeks.
