Over the past week thousands of protesters have taken to the streets in Portland, Oregon, resulting in a shooting, disruption of traffic, injuries and arrests.
At least 113 protesters were arrested in Portland since the election, over 70 of them on Saturday alone, and although the protesters claim they are having a “peaceful” demonstration, one man was shot on Friday night and had to be rushed to the hospital.
You won’t see these pictures on CNN, and judging from the content it doesn’t seem that these protests are all that peaceful. Also, if you need to wear a professional gas mask in order to engage in a protest, then you’re probably expecting to break the law at some point, in which case it’s no longer part of your 1st amendment right.
Fox 12 Oregon reports:
Criminal charges against more than 100 people arrested during last week’s post-election protests and riot in Portland have been dismissed for the time being, pending further review.
The Portland Police Bureau and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office released a joint statement saying nearly all off the criminal cases would not be charged and arraigned Monday.
Police and the district attorney said that while those arrested will learn that their cases have been no-complained for the time being, they will still be reviewed and evaluated for possible prosecution at a later date.
Due to the fluid nature of the ongoing protests over the past several days, most of the arresting officers were on duty, working to protect the city during an emergent event. As such, work is continuing by officers and detectives to complete the necessary reports but they will not be finished in time for today’s arraignments and for review by the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.
Police said hundreds of hours of video evidence must also be collected and reviewed.
Nearly everyone arrested in connection with the protests has at least received or will receive citations on the charge of failing to obey a police officer. Those citations will require a court appearance in a month and carry a fine up to $1,000.
“The sheer number of arrests during protests over the last several days has been an exceptional event and the charges being ‘no complained’ today is not unexpected and is a procedural matter given the extensive amount of work left to do in these cases,” according to a statement from investigators.
The district attorney states that the charges at this time are dismissed, but will be under review and there “may” be future action taken.
So what was a swift action by law enforcement to clear protesters from blocking the highways, streets and vandalizing property has now turned into a “get out of jail free card”, which is sure to only encourage more disruptive events as time goes on.
This city of Portland and the state of Oregon voted Democrat in this election, and the ironic part of these protests is they are mostly disrupting the lives of fellow Clinton voters, rather than Trump supporters.
As the protesters are being interviewed by the news station they say they were just “exercising their 1st amendment rights” and one person said he was just “walking to the store” when police arrested him for no apparent reason. Pretty odd to be walking to the store in the middle of the night through a massive protest with riot police everywhere, isn’t it?
The reporter ends by saying these protesters may face criminal charges in the future. Somehow I doubt that will actually happen.
Here are some of the “friendly” faces of just a few of the “peaceful” protesters arrested over the weekend in Portland who will be going about their day, learning that their are no consequences as long as you are protesting in a liberal city for a liberal cause.
The man in the second row, second picture from the left has a particularly unsavory look about him, as if he’s just itching for trouble. The rest look pretty much how you would imagine anti-Trump protesters to appear.
Earlier today, students walked out of their schools in Portland and marched down the streets to show their dissatisfaction with the election results. Nothing like jumping on the anti-Trump bandwagon as an excuse to get out of school it seems.
Although the media claims that these protests have been “spontaneous”, online journalists have proven them to be coordinated, planned and well funded. Just yesterday a video was released showing lines of buses transporting protesters from Wisconsin to Chicago, as well as evidence of their leaders being professional protesters with a history of demonstrating for the Democratic party.
Also, there have been reports of Craigslist advertisements seeking to pay activists to participate in anti-Trump events, as well as paid jobs to create anti-Trump artwork for them.
If you start putting the pieces together, these protests are anything but “spontaneous”, but rather organized events funded by the same donors and organizations who poured millions of dollars into Hillary Clinton’s campaign, which has now proven to be a colossal waste for them. We know that the mainstream press will not report the truth and will continue to glorify these protests in attempts to further divide the nation, so it’s up to the alternative media to spread these stories.
At the rate the networks and newspapers are losing viewership, however, the alternative media looks like it’s becoming the new preferred source of information that people want to get their news from.
