Singer Joy Villa made waves at the Grammys last night with her surprise gown emblazoned with President Trump’s campaign slogan of “Make America Great Again” along with the name “Trump” in capital letter featured on the bottom.
Joy Villa, who started performing at the age of 5 and worked as an actress in her teenage years, is of a multiracial background including African-American, Italian and Choctaw Indian. When arriving at the Grammys last night Villa at first concealed her custom Trump dress under a white robe that matched her hair accessory, while at the same time contrasting her designer heart shaped purse.
Then, while on the red carpet getting her picture taken by photographers, she threw off her coverings and revealed a designer “Make America Great Again” gown in blue and white with the name “TRUMP” in glittering letters at the bottom of her dress. She had previously shown a teaser of the outfit on her Instagram account with a message saying, “My whole artistic platform is about LOVE. I couldn’t be where I am today without the love and tenderness of those beautiful supporters and friends around me.”
After her dress made waves at the Grammys she posted a message on her Facebook page urging people to “see the person over politics“, an obvious reference to the anti-Trump protests and anger shown towards people for nothing more than supporting Trump, while telling her audience to “go big to go home”.
Joy Villa’s little known album, titled “I Make Static” hit No. 1 on Amazon today after pictures of her gown went viral and supporters flocked to find out more about her singing/songwriting, beating out both Beyonce and Lady Gaga (whose album received a boost after her Super Bowl performance).
Joy’s success didn’t stop there, however, as her album also hit No. 1 on Apple iTunes shortly after her success on Amazon.
Overall, Joy Villa’s album performance increased a staggering 18 million percent over where she was ranked prior to her fashion statement at the Grammys, which was at No. 543,202.
After seeing her album sales skyrocket, Villa sent out a tweet saying that she was “speechless”, as at that time her ranking was up to No. 16 on the best sellers list, but that was before it hit No. 1.
🎶I’m speechless…you, my amazing fans and supporters have put me to #16 on the iTunes Top Albums Charts!… https://t.co/MB40Ei8oVs

Not everyone was happy about Villa’s revealing of her political beliefs, namely the leftists and anti-Trumpers, who resorted to their usual tactics of violence and intimidation towards anyone who doesn’t share their views, with some even sending death threats the singer on Twitter.
Prior to the Grammys, Villa used her social media platform to promote healthy living and fitness, often sending pictures of herself participating in Bikini fitness contests for women.
Although Joy Villa showed courage and passion in proudly displaying an unpopular political belief in Hollywood, many conservative celebrities are still forced to hide their affiliations out of fear of being “blacklisted” from the industry
Perhaps Villa’s display will encourage Hollywood to be more accepting and tolerant of people’s political opinions, but unfortunately it’s more likely to further inflame the left and cause them to frantically lash out towards anyone who doesn’t conform to their beliefs.
