A teacher at a Georgia high school is under fire after ejecting two students from her class for wearing shirts with President Trump’s iconic campaign slogan of “Make America Great Again” printed on them.
The incident occurred when a math teacher, identified as Lyn Orletsky who teaches at River Ridge High School, saw two of her student wearing “Make America Great Again” shirts in her class and was triggered by what she believes that message represents. The teacher then started to address the students, demanding they leave class and turn their shirts inside-out, which is the standard policy for schools when a student is displaying something inappropriate on their clothing such as pictures of violence or profanity.
Fortunately, a student managed to capture the exchange on video, which shows the teacher making a shocking analogy between an American president’s campaign slogan and one of the most oppressive, violent regimes in history.
High school teacher calls Trump shirt a “swastika” and makes him take it off in class!
How is this ok!?!

The teacher can be heard telling the students that “Just like you cannot wear a swastika to school, you cannot wear Make America Great again like that. Please go, at least for this class, I don’t care what you do in other classes, but in my class…”
Antoehr student chimes in and asks, “Wait, so both of them have to, like, flip their shirts inside out because it says Trump on the top? They have to flip their shirts inside-out because its got Trump on it?”
The teacher responds, “Because it says Make America Great Again. The neo-Nazis…I’m not saying about Trump, but the slogan…” The video trails off at that point.
The teacher may not be “saying” that Trump is a neo-Nazi, but the very fact that she is using Nazi symbolism as a comparison to President Trump’s campaign slogans indicates she believes just that.
It should be apparent at this point that this high school math teacher has been seduced by the mainstream media and their narrative that most, if not all, Trump supporters are Neo-Nazis or racists, leading her to associate any campaign messaging from the president the same as she would when viewing relics of Hitler’s Nazi Germany. In this instance, the mainstream media has achieved their goal of warping the minds of liberals to shame and turn away from pro-American slogans such as “Make America Great Again”.
The school’s communication officer issued a statement following a massive backlash and outrage on social media.
On behalf of the Superintendent, this message is to provide you with more information about a story currently circulating in the media and on social media regarding an incident at one of our high schools.
In this regard, a River Ridge High School math teacher on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017 erroneously told two students their shirts with campaign slogans were not permitted in class. Her actions were wrong, as the “Make America Great Again” shirts worn by the students are not a violation of our School District dress code. The teacher additionally — and inappropriately — shared her personal opinion about the campaign slogan during class.
The school’s Principal immediately met with and apologized to these students and their families. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower is deeply sorry that this incident happened in one of our schools; it does not reflect his expectation that all students be treated equally and respectfully by our employees.
While we cannot discuss disciplinary action against a teacher, we can assure you that the students face no disciplinary action. The Superintendent also is instructing all Principals to meet with their teachers and staff to review the dress code and remind them that their political opinions should not be shared with students.
As people across the country are being encouraged by some social media sites to contact the school, we anticipate a potentially high call volume over the next week. If possible, please avoid calling the front office during this time, and instead email the person you are trying to reach; emails are published on the school website at http://cherokeek12.net/riverridgehs/. A plan is in place to ensure staff will continue to be able to make outgoing calls without issues.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children each day. We care about them and their future success!

As explained in the statement, the teacher acted on her own emotions despite the students in her class being in compliance with the school’s dress code. The slogan “Make America Great Again” is in no way comparable to a Nazi swastika, nor is it meant to be a rallying cry for racists or neo-Nazis. The school was right to defend the student’s rights, and this entire episode simply illustrates the teacher enforcing her own political beliefs at her job and role as an educator.
This is yet another example of pervasive liberal politics being injected into America’s school systems, which is no accident as the most effective way to secure a political party’s success is by indoctrinating children during their developmental years into accepting liberal beliefs.
Unfortunately, this is only the most recent incident of teachers enforcing liberal politics in schools. In June, a New Jersey school was forced to reissue their yearbooks after someone airbrushed a Trump “Make America Great Again” slogan off of several student’s t-shirts for their yearbook photos.
