President-elect Donald Trump has long been criticized by the press for his tweeting habits, often sending out late night Tweets to blast his opponents, but the fact is social media has given him a platform to speak directly to his supporters.
Over the weekend, Saturday Night Live ran a skit poking fun of Donald Trump and his penchant for tweeting or retweeting messages that he finds interesting, to which Trump responded:
Just tried watching Saturday Night Live – unwatchable! Totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can’t get any worse. Sad

This morning, Trump sent out another Tweet explaining why he feels the need to utilize social media in a way that no president has before.
If the press would cover me accurately & honorably, I would have far less reason to “tweet.” Sadly, I don’t know if that will ever happen!

To Trump’s credit, there has never been a presidential candidate who was criticized so heavily and whose messages were distorted to the level his was during this election season by the mainstream media.
Now, the media is complaining that “fake news” and “Russian influence” were contributing factors to Donald Trump’s victory on election day. Considering that glorified liberal media outlet The Huffington Post predicted that Hillary Clinton would win the election, with a 90% confidence rating, it would seem they should be the ones performing a self examination on which news is fake and whose reporting aligns more accurately with the mood of the American people.
Of course, most Trump supporters know that the real reason the press dislikes Trump tweeting so much is that it completely bypasses their ability to put their own “spin” on his message, making them even more irrelevant than they already are after throwing their complete support behind Hillary Clinton.
