Country music star Toby Keith is defending his decision to sing at Donald Trump’s inauguration next week, as leftists are attempting to bully him into canceling his performance.
Toby Keith issued a response to critics, who have been actively harassing performers who have agreed to perform at Trump’s inauguration . Protesters have even issued death threats to blind opera singer Andrea Bocelli, forcing him to cancel his planned performance due to “safety concerns”. Broadway singer Jennifer Holliday was also harassed into canceling her attendance, with critics calling her an “uncle tom” for performing at Trump’s inauguration.
Despite several singers being bullied into submission, Toby Keith has taken a stand and responded to those who protest his decision to perform at Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again Celebration”.
“I don’t apologize for performing for our country or military, Keith said in a statement to EW. I performed at events for previous presidents [George W.] Bush and [Barack] Obama and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO.”
Keith’s performance at a concert at the Lincoln Memorial on Jan. 19 was announced Friday; he will be joined at the Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration by 3 Doors Down, Lee Greenwood, Jennifer Holliday, The Piano Guys, and the Frontmen of Country. The Rockettes, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and America’s Got Talent contestant Jackie Evancho are also among those set to perform.
Patriotic as always, Toby Keith has committed to performing on a historic inauguration day, regardless of the anti-Trump agitators who wish to sabotage the enjoyment of this event.
I can imagine Toby Keith on stage at the inauguration singing his hit song “How do You Like Me Know”, as it applies perfectly to the year and a half battle that Donald Trump fought to win the election and become the 45th President of the United States.
