According to one of the mainstream media’s anonymous sources President Trump, in a meeting last week with senators, told the Democrats in the room “Pocahontas is now the face of your party”, making an obvious reference to Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren and her often criticized claim of being Native American.
CNN reported the story, which was quickly picked up by several other left wing news outlets like Washington Post and Huffington Post, and also claimed that Trump used this meeting to address claims of voter fraud during last year’s election. CNN “sources” also revealed that Trump’s comment came up during an analysis of the Democrat Party, the day after Elizabeth Warren had to be shut down on the Senate floor for insulting the character of Jeff Session’s.
Take this story with a big grain of “fake news” salt, considering the media’s sources have proved more than unreliable in the past, but Trump did himself call Warren “Pocahontas” several times during his campaign, so it certainly wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility.
Last year, after Warren blasted him during a rally for Hillary Clinton, Trump tweeted, “Pocahontas is at it again! Goofy Elizabeth Warren, one of the least productive U.S. Senators, has a nasty mouth. Hope she is V.P. choice.”

Goofy Elizabeth Warren, sometimes referred to as Pocahontas, pretended to be a Native American in order to advance her career. Very racist!

Elizabeth Warren has been criticized over the years for her claim that she is of Native American descent, only “discovering” her lost ancestry when filling out her race on an application for a teaching position with Harvard Law School. It certainly is convenient that Warren all of the sudden discovers the only minority heritage she could possibly make a claim to, precisely when it would benefit her on a job application, as there’s nothing liberal universities like more than hiring minorities to increase their diversity percentages.
Warren has claimed that since “her grandfather had high cheekbones“, it would indicate she has some percentage of Native American Heritage. In 2012, Republican Sen. Scott Brown’s campaign accused Warren of “participating in Harvard’s diversity sham and called for her to “come clean” on her true heritage.
Although media outlets have tried to spin it as a negative scenario, it’s hard to see how calling Warren “Pocahontas” could have any effect, since Trump branded her as such many times during his campaign and still went on to win the election.
In fact, Native Americans from the Cherokee Nation seem to agree with Trump’s criticism of Warren, as they made a video shaming her claims to their sacred heritage.
