The USC/Dorneslife / LA Times Presidential Election Daybreak daily poll is showing Donald Trump breaking away in the lead from Hillary Clinton after her latest medical episode on Sunday.
The daily tracking poll shows Trump leading at 46.7% to Clinton’s 42% percent as of today, a 4.7 point lead.
Although not Trump’s largest lead over Clinton in this poll to date (that being 7.3 points after the RNC in July), this is his largest lead since mid-August. These numbers also show that Hillary is taking a hit in her popularity after her collapse on Sunday, and subsequent withholding of her “pneumonia” diagnosis for 2 days, which will be difficult to recover from.
In the larger weekly polls, we have not yet seen the full effect of this week’s disasters on Hillary Clinton’s numbers, as she hasn’t been seen in public since emerging from her daughters apartment Sunday afternoon.
Also, with yesterday’s additional DNC leaked emails coming to light, with Democratic donors telling Colin Powell that “no one likes her” and another saying “she could barely make it on the podium”, Hillary’s poll numbers are not likely to improve any time soon.
Donald Trump has been taking advantage of Hillary’s self-inflicted wounds, and has continued on his campaign trail as well as promising to release the results of his own medical exams later this week.
