President Donald Trump received a warm welcome during his address at the Boy Scouts of America’s National Jamboree.
Trump starts out by saying, “We have a lot of people here, the press will say we have about 200 people,” as the audience laughed.
“Tonight, we put aside all of the policy fights in Washington DC you’ve been hearing about in the fake news and all of that,” while the audience cheered at Trump’s statement.
Trump continued, “Who the hell wants to talk about politics while I’m in front of the Boy Scouts, right?”
When Trump told the audience that he is honored to be addressing the Boy Scouts, the crowd broke out in cheers and chanted “USA, USA, USA!”
More cheers came when Trump mentioned to the crowd that former president Barack Obama declined invitations to speak at the scout gathering during his two terms in office.
“By the way, just a question: did President Obama ever come to a jamboree?” Trump said.
Immediately, the crowd let out a wave of “boos” and jeers at the very mention of Obama. Trump responded, “The answer is no, but we’ll be back.”
The president mentioned that he has 10 former Boy Scouts serving in his cabinet and administration, and brought a few of them on stage, including Health Secretary Tom Price.
There can be no mistaking the crowd’s enthusiasm as you watch from a different angle that shows the massive amount of people cheering and chanting “USA, USA, USA” as President Trump takes to the stage.
I imagine it’s a stark contrast for the Boy Scouts, who regularly uphold a love for America, when a president like Trump espouses an “America First” policy versus Obama who went on a world “apology tour”, bending the knee to foreign leaders and apologizing for America’s imagined slights against them.
Leave it to the leftist anti-Trump media, however, as they published headlines from liberal parents angry that their children had to listen to the President of the United States.
